Therapy with Jill

Professional, compassionate support

... to help you navigate life’s challenges. Begin your journey to healing in a safe and confidential space.

I’m Jill and a fully qualified integrative counsellor working in private practice in London. I am a registered and accredited member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and follow the BACP's ethical framework (which can be found here). This is the most recognised professional body for therapists which means that I meet their high-quality standards as a competent and ethical practitioner. I am also professionally supervised and fully insured.

I’m committed to ongoing Continual Professional Development, attend training courses and workshops, undergo regular supervision and undertake further reading on a regular basis. This ensures that I’m conversant with contemporary therapeutic methods for my clinical practice. As a trained integrative therapist, I am skilled in a variety of modalities and can draw on them to enhance our work together.

Counselling

How Does It Work?

Explore a range of therapeutic approaches to help you overcome anxiety, stress, trauma, and more. Together, we’ll find the path that’s right for you.

I realise that life can be challenging and overwhelming, and reaching out for help is not always easy, it takes courage. Everyone in life experiences challenges and difficulties, and sometimes we just feel unable to manage them on our own. Whilst some come to therapy for a specific reason, for others the immediate cause of distress is less apparent.

I provide an environment where you can express your feelings and talk about things you may not be comfortable discussing with anyone else. We will work at your pace, and the sessions will be led by you. I will offer a space for you to be heard and accepted without judgement and I’ll be there to support you. We will reflect on what may or may not be working for you in your life and look at patterns of behaviour so that you become more aware of who you are and tackle the root causes.

As a counsellor, I don’t offer advice, or give you my opinion on what you should do or offer answers. I listen to you and offer different and new perspectives to help you see your world more clearly. The aim of counselling is to help you talk about a problem and then work together to discover a solution that is right for you. We will gain a deeper insight into your issues. These issues may stem from understanding unresolved, unconscious conflicts.

I offer a flexible and thoughtful approach to each client’s therapy. I will support you throughout and suggest practical feedback to help you explore and resolve your current problems.

Jill
With over 30 years of experience, I am committed to guiding you through personal growth and transformation with empathy and expertise.

I have a vast experience spanning over 30 years engaging with and mentoring people in various working environments and supporting mental health issues.

Throughout my career I have worked in positions that have afforded me the opportunity to meet a range of people and client groups to develop the skills necessary to encourage individuals to reach their full potential. This includes my time as a qualified teacher, an HR Director in my own finance company and working with a variety of charities.

Consequently, I have a wide, first-hand knowledge of those who experience difficulties within both the corporate and charity sectors. Before beginning my own practice, I worked within the NHS and a counselling service supporting individuals with a range of issues. I have extensive experience working with clients from different backgrounds, cultures, life experiences and perspectives.

Next Steps

Take the first step with a free 15-minute consultation. Let's discuss how we can work together to achieve your goals.

Please contact me either by email or text and I will call you prior to any commitment to have an informal 15-minute chat. This is an opportunity to talk about what you’re seeking from therapy and to explore your current concerns.

There is no obligation to continue but if you do decide to, we can arrange an assessment session to establish your needs and how we will work together, and I will send you a working agreement to sign.

I ask that you commit to a weekly meeting with me as regular and consistent sessions of therapy have proved to give very effective results. The sessions can be short term solution-based or long term, depending on what help and support you are seeking.

I’m committed to helping you through whatever you’re dealing with, and I have a range of counselling skills to use in a way that works for you. I’m not here to judge you and our work together will be confidential. I can cover: Developing resilience Personal growth and transformation Healing from trauma Overcoming stress, burnout, depression & anxiety Develop healthy boundaries i.e. to say a compassionate 'No' Understanding relationship dynamics Connecting more deeply with your inner self Learning to access your intuition and innate wisdom Finding meaning and purpose in your life
  • How regular are the sessions?
Should you wish to start regular therapy following your initial consultation, we would work together weekly, usually on the same day and at the same time to provide consistency. I can offer both daytime and evening appointments and also Saturday mornings.
  • How many sessions will I need?
I believe it will be beneficial for you to commit to at least 8 sessions. The total number of sessions will depend on what you would like to achieve and any goals you wish to set. We will discuss this during the initial call. Each session is 50 minutes. You can decide if you want to discontinue the therapy sessions and our final meeting will be an assessment to discuss your experience of therapy.
  • How soon can I get started?
If you can be flexible on the time that we meet, we could possibly start the following week, but this depends on the availability at the time.
  • How do I pay?
We will discuss fees during the initial phone call as they are dependent on the type of work we will do together. My fees are from a £60.00 - £75.00 per session. Payment is required weekly in advance by BACS transfer. I can also take credit cards upon request.
  • What's the cancellation policy?
I require 48hours’ notice of cancellation.
  • How do I get in touch with you?
To book an initial consultation or ask me any more questions, please use the form on my Contact page or send an email to …. and I'll reply as soon as I can - usually within two working days.
